You have a very good tailor. I would be concerned if he did not check the measurements for the inseam.
You need to know what the length is from the inside of the leg to make sure that the legs are going to be long enough for a good fit.
Improper Inseams give you either "flood pants" of ones that drag on the floor and you can trip over them.

The measurements are nessarsary if you want your trousers to be the right lenght!
If you dont mind ankle flappers, then you dont have to have inside leg measurements.
