The Marines have no independent military academy. Naval academy midshipmen usually opt for either Navy or Marine Corps commissions.
All the military academies will allow a small number of their students to "cross over" into another branch, as well. USAF Academy cadets go Navy or USMC, West Point cadets go USAF, etc.
Some of those good Navy midshipmen you see playing football may very well don the uniform of a second lieutenant of Marines when they graduate.

The Marines are part of the Navy. Their LES's say Department of the Navy on them. This is like the Army Air Corps ( Later becoming the AF) back in WW2 they are a extension of that branch is all. So the Marines officers train at the Naval academy. If you look close at their uniforms you can see the units they will be assigned to when they graduate and you can figure out if they are Navy or Marines. As for the comment about the Marines being "elite" forces that is false they are the ground forces for the Navy.

Army, Navy and Air Force are service academies--colleges for men and women who wish to become military officers. These teams are for the universities, not the branches of miltary themselves.
American Marine oficers graduate from the US Naval Academy, so the Marines do have a team, the Navy team.

The Marines are a department of the Navy so the Navy team is technically theirs. Marines go to the naval academy and can choose whether to go Navy or Marine when they are done.

Simple. The Marines who opt for Academy training are trained at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. This is because the US Marine Corps are a division of the Navy under the strictest technical terms.
