my high school season always starts in the first week of march. those are the practices. the actual games start the first week of april.

when i played in high school we normally started conditioning at the end of November so that we would be in shape and ready to play once the season started. Conditioning consisted of only running and agility drills. We never even picked up a softball until at least late February. I can remember conditioning and the basketball girls and swim team girls that played came like the last two weeks of conditioning. The actual season didnt start until the end of March or early April..anyway, it shouldn't interfere with basketball but i would advise you to talk to the coach and explain to him or her that you are interested in trying out. This will give you the opportunity to tell him or her that you play basketball but can't participate in softball until the end of the season.

practice usually starts right after basketball season is over. if the team goes into regionals or state championship, they may interfer alittle bit, but only practice. games dont usually start until early march.

softball season usally starts around when spring starts like you can sign up like in March i think and start practicing in March becuz signups are only like a week long but it really depends where you live
