The atomic mass
protons and neutrons have the same Mass so it you have 1 proton and ONE neutron the mass must be 2.
Don't confuse this with the mass from the electrons which are about 1/200 (approx.) of the proton.
Protons carry the positive charge.
Neutron have no charge.
Electrons carry the negative.
This why as a general rule the atomic mass is about twice the atomic number.
