it would be 1/8 because 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 is 1/8.

P(3 tails in a row) = (1/2)(1/2)(1/2) = 1 / 8

its 1/8 because its for flipping the coin 3 times:

the combos are:
HHH, HHT, HTH, HTT, THH, THT, TTT, TTH

there is one TTT combo out of eight

by the way, 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 isnt 1/6, its 1/8
this is the other way to do this problem
there is a 1/2 chance for three flips so you do (1/2)^3

1/2 because 3/6 is equal to 1/2 if u reduce it by 2.

Um. Neither. What you need to do is figure out the total number of combinations. Let's call that t. The answer is 1/t.

I'm not going to tell you how to calculate how many combinations there are. Sorry. :-) Draw a table or web to make it easier.
