It means Public Limited Company in the U.K. and Ireland. In the U.S., it's a Professional Law Corporation. In my state, most attorneys are organized as a corporation known as an L.L.C., Limited Liability Company/Corporation.

Are you sure it isn't LLC? LLC is a Limited Liability Corporation. Some law firms are incorporated in this manner. I've never heard of PLC.
