its logical really. you say fixed costs.. they arent.

get smaller offices.
move her wages, and base it on production values
get a second hand chair and desk.. or close the office and have her work from home.
dont employ an assistant, make her manage her time more effectively and WORK HARDER...

DONT borrow... false economy... take on more work...and work longr hours.

And never goto the bank for an overdraft... they screw you. yeah we can lend you a dollar, but its gonna cost you $1.30c

personally, sack mia, and hire some refugees who work for below the mimimum union rate... they dont expect an office, or furniture, or pay rises, healtcare, or anything else...
