I got a reptile starter kit which had sand in it, and since leopard geckos cant use sand I need something to do with it. Can I use it for my crickets, or just throw it away?

I would throw it away. Sand may cause some health problems for them.

paper towels are the easiest to clean. You can put the sand (slightly damp) into a small container for your crickets to lay eggs in.

No, it's too difficult to clean. Just use papertowels on the bottom of the cricket tank.
