If it was only sodium chloride (same thing as table salt) and no other chemicals were in the solution, I think the spots are probably salt deposits. Try dabbing it with a damp cloth. If it doesn't come out, you should take it in to get professionally cleaned. Do not try to use different cleaning products on it, because you could just make it worse.

Sodium chloride is exactly the same as the salt you put on your eggs. The solution is just salt water. If the "stain" is white and powdery it is just salt and can be removed with water. If not, it almost surely has removed the color because the dyes were water soluble. Sorry.

sodium chloride is salt, it is easily removable. I'm a professional carpet cleaner living in northern ontario, salt in carpets is a common problem here. Clean it just using water it might take several tries but it should come out.

My thoughts are it removed the coloring.
I did google search for "restore color on rug" and came up with lots of links of products and professionals.

No, it isn't a stain - the color was removed. You could try using a colored permanent marker to 'touch up' those spots. Buy the pack of colored sharpies.

Becarefull about mixing chemicals , the sodium choride and the carpet cleaner . I would ask a profesonal cleaner like stanley or one of the others. i would be worried about the chemical mix.
