Does anyone know who wrote the original musical. I know Tim Burton is doing his own interpritation of it but who wrote the broadway version? I need this for a report and I can't seem to find it anywhere...thanks!

Well, its been said, but yeah, Steven Sondheim. Its not like its a secret. Did you even look? Anyway, he's brilliant. Look up other shows by him.

Stephen Sondheim wrote the music and lyrics. Book by Hugh Wheeler. The 1979 original production was directed by Harold Prince. It's based on a book by Christopher Bond.

I find that very hard to believe.

His name is Stephen Sondheim. I suggest renting a filmed prodtucion of Sweeney Todd with George Hearn and Angela Lansbury.
