This is what i have so far:For all those who ever wondered what their future child would look like you can now choose baby’s appearance. A Texas fertility clinic is now offering to “design” babies for parents who are willing to pay $10,000 dollars for the service. Religious leaders and religious doctors believe that by altering a baby’s genetics they are “playing God”. Others say that it’s just “morally wrong”. However most agree that eliminating the chances that your baby might have diseases or deformities is a worth while investment. This service can not only ensure that your baby will be healthy but it can ensure that your offspring will have desired traits.
Imagine a society with no cancer, AIDS, or deformities. When designing a baby parents can stop their children from suffering from horrible diseases and after a period of time cancer and AIDS will just be a memory of the past. More to b added!

While many people call this “Playing God” others say you are protecting your children and grandchildren from potentially horrific experience caused by diseases, deformities, or disabilities. Children will be able to live free of painful medical treatments or physiologically damaging ridicule.
Today millions of parents get their children braces, some even get their kids plastic surgery, why is genetic altering any different? It is the parents’ choice if they want to alter their baby or not.
Please help! Ideas are appreciated. TAHNKS! Oh and I'm in 8th grade so the standards should be self explanitory.

I think this is well written. Does the Texas fertility clinic let you know about diseases etc. Like my mother died from ovarian cancer and also had heart disease. Do they let you know about this? I mean most people have some form of disease or health issues in their families. The Clinic would have to let you know about these health issues right? May be this doesn't apply to your paper. Good Luck!

1. If the process promotes economic or social pressures that cause discrimination against people, this creates conflict, whether or not it is justified by facts.

2. It is better to address and resolve all concerns up front before proceeding so that any problems identified can be remedied, and not make mistakes by trial and error, as with faulty research with prescription medicine or chemical preservatives or hormones or genetically altered food, the effects of some of which are not fully tested or known. It is better not to experiment if there is chance of causing harm.

3. An important note I would make is that by altering or choosing the genetics, this negates the effort or research into truly identifying and preventing the FACTORS that would cause these conditions to manifest.
a. this is like a similar "shortcut" of relying on drugs to address symptoms of a disease after the fact, instead of preventing or correcting the root cause of the symptoms.
b. this argument calls for faith or proof of higher causes, such as spiritual issues or conflicts, that govern the genetic process. The genetic process itself is not the root cause, but the spiritual factors that prevent or cause the genes to be chosen that would allow the conditions to manifest. So in order to better prevent the conditions, the argument is to address the spiritual causes, the past issues that if unresolved in the family or generations beforehand cause the bad genes to manifest instead of healthy ones.

4. As long as the ethical agreement is made not to stop at "genetics" as the assumed root cause, but to continue looking further into scientific proof of spiritual, environmental or other causes that influence the choice of genetic manifestation, then there is no problem with researching genetics in the meantime, while looking for preventative solutions. But the genetic manipulation cannot take the place of identifying the other factors involved and developing effective solutions that address those. By truly identifying, addressing and healing the "spiritual" causes of imbalance, this heals the entire person and generation from the spirit to the mental and physical levels; but relying on physical manipulation attempts to remove the physical conditions without addressing the root cause that may be the problem.

It is like throwing out the wrong answers on a test so the student never learns how to prevent the wrong answers. Whereas if you trace the source, you can find the root cause and correct it there. The problem is that people who either do not have faith these things can be corrected or prevented, or who wish to profit off a monopolized correction to the problem, may not be motivated to research the real causes but "bypass" or "obstruct" the process by manipulating the outcome instead of respecting the natural life process and having faith there is a "natural" way to correct anomalies by preventing them before they manifest in the genes, instead of resorting to manipulative measures after the fact.
