Both. Many species of dinosaur became extinct. Others evolved into birds.

Both.

Why do you ask this as if it is an either-or question?

Extinction. If you saw a dinosaur in your backyard, you would try to get rid of it. That's what happened. The old settlers on Earth hunted them out of their towns until they became endangered. Then the flood kill most of the other ones. I personally believe that some still roam the swamp lands in Africa and some large lakes around the world.
