Unplug chargers when they're not being used to charge electronics, turn off your computer when not in use, invest in energy-saving light bulbs (they really DO save money in the long run), unplug any appliances or electronics that aren't in use, such as DVD players, VCRs, coffee makers... anything except the fridge, and perhaps the furnace.

Line up the meals you want to cook for the week. Turn on the oven and cook them in as few oven loads as you can. Freeze or refrigerate the week's worth and just reheat when you are ready for each meal. That saves the cost of your oven being on every day. Ovens use more electricity in an hour than your house full of light bulbs does all week long.

Use cold water to wash clothes instead of warm or hot. Tide makes a great cold water detergent.

unplug things like your tv, dvd player and microwaves at night, turn off the a.c when you don`t really need it, i heard that turning off your computer actually uses more electricity then leaving it one so you shouldn`t turn it off unless you really need to. =]
