Maybe your mom wants you to be ahead of everyone else to make her proud.

I understand what you mean. My mom was also a teacher (not a dance teacher, but anyway...) She wanted me to be so perfect that noone could ever say she can't teach her own daughter let alone other kids. So in a way, she felt pressure on herself for me to do well. Maybe that explains a little bit why is your mom has such high standards for you.
It just so happened that Mom was teaching my favorite subject, and naturally she was always there to answer my questions. As a result, I was way overqualified for her class by the time I was supposed to be in it. Her school subject is now my profession :-) so try to use this situation to your advantage. Ask your mom tons of question on how you can become a better dancer, work hard and I'm sure you will be en pointe in no time, not only that - you will dance well en pointe.

she might be waiting until other girls in your class are ready. if she gives you what might seem like special treatment some students could get upset or hurt.

this is one possible senerio but it might be that she is waiting until she knows your ankles and feet are strong enough.

so ask her if any other girls in your class look like they are ready to start pointe so you can all start together...its always better that way...i started in pointe with 3 other girls..and it really helps actually so your on the same difficulty level.

it is always up to your dance teacher weather you should be up on pointe or not, if you think your ready you should talk to her and ask her why she doesn't want you on pointe
