It's not Detroit because they don't sell out every game.

I have to go with Detroit still..............Having seen many games at mant arenas, Detroit is still my favourite arena to watch a game oustide Chicago. The atmosphere is second to none, the fans are extremely knowledgable, extremely loud, and they are always into the game. In the 70s and 80s, The Red Wings averaged 2 sell-outs a year, yet they were constantly rewarded with best fans recognition.

I'll keep that tradition going...they may not sell out, but they are still the best in the west!

This is a vague question so there is many answers in a sense, I think come playoff time Calgary has the best fans; everyone has the home jersey on and they are loud. Also the Red Wings just because when they play on the road there is usually a good following of fans. Then of course you have to throw in Montreal fans as well, they are a very very passionate bunch.

Being from MN i'm form of interior the middle, yet we are interior the Western convention. while you're speaking approximately how they sense approximately enjoying communities interior the western convention, individually i think of that extremely some the video games could be performed interior of their very own convention, resembling how that's complete in Baseball. i think of that's good that there are some video games against specific communities, for the reason that's an risk to be certain some good gamers and communities which you do no longer many times get to be certain. yet i do no longer in basic terms like the assumption of having to play each and every group interior the league once or twice a 12 months. i like the assumption of enjoying the same communities extra regularly because of the fact it builds rivalries. Its no longer that i do no longer care with reference to the east coast communities, it in basic terms that i do no longer prefer to look my group enjoying them each and every of the time. The exception is seeing a game against the stanley cup champs.

I would say the wild they sell out every game since they been there which is crazy and ive never been to a san jose game but im told they have the loudest crowds and crazyiest fans in the states and as for canada i would say the fans in calgary are pretty crazy
Also that guy that is going to every home rink in the nhl in 30 nights said this.

"Rangers fans, Red Wings fans, Stars fans, even Ducks fans should stop reading right now, in case you choke on your Corn Flakes. Because without a doubt, San Jose has the best fans I've seen in America"

Good point Bob....best fans eh....hmmm....taking Bob's points into consideration I hate to admit this but the hardcore Leafs fans. They are brainwashed, bleed blue and white and if you are talking sells outs I cannot remember the last time a Leaf game has not been at capacity. It's like a cult. Also you see more Leafs fans on the road than any other team in the NHL. Just ask about any fan in any other NHL city. That means you Montreal,Ottawa, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Vancouver. Even LA man.Merchandise sales are only behind Manchester United and the Yankees. The pay to watch them on tv and locally at big screen movie theatres.
It is a bitter puck to swallow until you define the meaning
Go Pens!

The Chicago Blackhawks. Anyone that can put up with the talent their management puts on the ice year in and year out is a hard core fan. I'm a Hawk's fan..have been my whole life. And since the early 90's..it's been a long bumpy ride.

Thank you for your one-dimensional logic. However, you're not fooling anyone. We can all see that this is indirectly the ever-so-popular "Hockeytown, USA" question re-worded. I'm sure Zam would enjoy your Q. Did it ever occur to you that the Wings are smack dab in the middle of blue-collar central and season tickets sell for over eight thousand bucks?

"Best fans" is a term that is open to different conclusions. Does selling out always make the best fans? That is skewed because some cities are larger, some rinks are larger etc. So, it depends on what you mean by best fans. Most loyal? Most? Most knowledgeable? Most rabid? Loudest?
