Hey Federer fans do you realize that Roger has won 5 out of last 7 matches he has played against Rafa ??? He also sported a winning record against Rafa in 2007( 3-2). He also beat Rafa on clay this year. Roger is slowly but surely getting the Nadal " monkey off his back". I for one say HELL YEAH !!!! Federer Rules !!!!!!!

Holly crap. This Fed win made my day. I've never seen anyone serve and play himself out of trouble like Fed did today. It was brilliant, legendary and close to unrepeatable. The so called "raging bull" was more like a headless chicken. Hopefully Fed will take this a.. whooping and take it to the French Open and finally hold the coveted trophy so he can be officially recognized as the best ever.

no question

Uh ok hi again.
Perhaps you don't realize that in addition to pointing out that you didn't really ask a question, my "no question" comment was a statement that I agree with you entirely, as in "there is no question that Federer does rule". Sorry that I have "nothing to add", I like Federer but I don't follow his career THAT closely, so I didn't know his recent stats against Nadal, only that, yeah, he's been beating him more. The mfunke gave interesting information, and I thank him/her as I'm sure you must. Oh, here's something, I read an interview with Roger once in which (I think) he attributed his not-as-Godlike performances at the French Open not to the surface but to the fact that an American sport he liked a lot had important games at the same time, so he was thinking about those games (I think it was the NBA finals) to the detriment of his own. But I read the article in German, so who knows if I understood it correctly? I think he said he liked baseball more than tennis too.

if you look at earlier in federer's career, he had problems against guys who return the ball effectively against him. Agassi, Hewitt, nalbandian, and even Tim Henman gave him problems. All of them had a commanding head-to-head record. But over the years, against all of them, he has come back and has dominated them. i think once he learns and gets a feel for any player on the tour...he will eventually figure them out. I think we are seeing this with Nadal.

Roland garros is a different story basically because that is Nadal's preferred surface. He grew up on it, and is clearly the best in the world on that slow surface.

Yeah, that was pretty impressive, especially his victory on clay. If Federer does manage to win the French Open, then he can officially be declared the greatest of all time. I think the upcoming French Open might be his best shot at winning.
