Mabel? Do you like that name?

Love it.

It's one of those so-out-it's-in-again names. It has the "el" ending that skyrocketed Isabel and Gabrielle to the top of the charts, but like Hazel, has yet to take off.

It's sophisticated and fun - a tough combo to find. And Mab is a great nickname, as is Bel. She won't be one in a million, but everyone will recognize her name.

I'd use it without reservation.

I think Mabel is quite unique and mature....and very uncommon. There are way too many Mckayla's, Mckenzie's, and Brianna's. These names are for little girls so dont be discouraged if Mabel is thought of as old..she'll probably turn out to be a mature young lady.

I think it is an old fashioned name. I don't particularly care for it because the only person I ever knew named Mabel was kind of mean. A lot of old fashioned names are popular again though. Especially Grace.

It reminds me of the baby on Mad About You. I like it, though, it's pretty and not something you hear anymore.

Little old ladies. That was my great grandma's name and I haven't met anyone younger than her with that name.
