Hit F8 repeatedly on start up.

take it you run Windows XP



* If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the pc
* turn the pc on.
* Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. (If you begin tapping the F8 key early it may display a "keyboard error" message) it it does restart pc and try again.
* Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
* Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
* When you are finished ,restart the computer as you normally would.

hit f8 at start up or when shutting down click restart in safe mode
