I have been using Norton for many years with good results and no problems.

One quirk of Norton is it's inability to easily be removed. There is an easy remedy though. Norton has a removal tool just for this purpose.

Visit Norton Support page at:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Find the version you are using and click on that link and down load the removal tool for your version. Follow thier instructions.

I have done this in the past when trying to uninstall an old version of Norton AntiVirus. It worked perfectly for me.

Well do not reformat you HD just for this reason! that is really bad advice! Norton Anti-virus (not notion virus) should be able to uninstall by going to control paned, install/uninstall. If that don't work then go here:

service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

and follow instructions.

I know I hate Norton! Go to control panel, Add or Remove programs and try uninstalling. If it doesn't work, then reformat your hard drive by inserting your XP CD, this will uninstall everything, then you can delete it from your hard drive.
