I'm 17 years old and female. My breasts are sore, especially my left one. I started having these pains a week from today (and I also started my period today), but it seems that my left breast is bigger than the other (not incredibly noticeable, but still certainly bigger.) From what I can remember, my left breast has always had more stretch marks than the other, but they always had seemed to be the same size. I went to the doctor yesterday, and she thought they seemed fine (but she hardly said anything about the difference in size.) I know it can be normal for one to be bigger than the other, but just knowing that they are different drives me nuts, and I am incredibly paranoid! I need relief, I can't seem to calm myself down. I also had a swollen lymph node in my left armpit, but she looked at that and thought it was fine. But I'm still paranoid!! How can I relax? I am a VERY paranoid person when it comes to my health.

It's completely normal. I don't know a single woman who's breasts are the same size. Also, women's breasts are very commonly sore before their period . My breasts are always sore a few days before I start and will be sore up until the last day or so after it ends.

I too have a lymph node in my left arm pit. Originally it was from a bee sting I got when I was young. Then it got aggrivated whenever I had a sinus infection, or virtually anything. It also swells and is sore when I use my arm a lot because my shoulder is slightly separated. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

However, if the node does contiue to bother you, see an endocrinologist. They will examine you and know for certain if it is something to worry about. If they have any doubt, they will remove it an biopsy it.

Seriously though, I think you will be just fine. Take care and try not to worry so much. That will just CAUSE you health problems.

Every woman has a breast that is larger than the other. However, generally speaking, it is not noticable. Just like feet (everyone has one foot larger than the other).

As long as the size differential doesn't bother you, don't worry about it.

As for the rest, ask your doctor for a referral to a specialist. The swolen lymph nodes could be anything from a viral infection to cancer.

I wish you the best, and hope that the outcome is the safest.

It is totally normal to have one breast larger than the other. I do and all my friends say they do too unless they had reconstructive surgery. You need to understand that your cycles will make your breast more tender then normal too, and since you started your period this would explain that. Also, preform your breast exams monthly so you will know if something appears that has not been felt prior. You need to do the exam after your cycle ends when your breast will be less tender. Don't worry you sound perfectly normal and atleast you are seeing a doctor with your concerns to so thumbs up for that. Get feeling better soon!

i know exactly what ur going through im 17 too and the same way. left bigger than right. its annoying i know, but no one else notices dont worry. its normal for one to be even a full cup size bigger than the other (which im pretty sure is me.) the pain is from your period. ive had it too. make sure you're wearing a properly fitting bra, that can also be related to breast pain. if the doctor says you're fine, you're fine. if it doesnt go away after your period ends or gets worse then maybe id go back to the doctor, but really theres nothing to worry about. ur not alone.

asymetry is soo common...don't fret. Every girlfriend i had had a bigger one. The lymph node could be related to any cut or scrape in your hands or arms. Are you healing from a cut?
Breats often enlarge while pregnant, or hormonal changes. A picture would help :)
