Since you are saying you aren't pregnant, I presume you are not sexually active. Working with that presumption...
If you are an athlete, and working out at an extreme level, your body could simply have stopped menstruating. Olympic level and professional athletes occasionally have to deal with this situation.
Alternatively, if you are at the opposite end of the spectrum - are morbidly obese, your body can cease menstruating as well.
If you are neither obsessively fit, or morbidly obese, there are several possible medical explanations - for which a doctor is the best option.
Now, assuming that you are sexually active...there is no such thing as a fool-proof method of birth control, except abstainance. Condoms fail, the pill is only 98% effective, etc. A girl can become pregnant if semen comes anywhere in proximity to her vagina, although the probability is low, it does exist.
In any case. Whether you want to or not, there is another possible explanation that no one will like. Cancer. Scared yet? Good. Whether you like the idea or not, GO TO THE DOCTOR.

You need to go to the doctor, your reproductive system is not something to fool around with. It could be something serious that needs treatment, the doctor will probably just take a blood test which is really short and almost painless.

I'm not exactly sure what's up, but my bff has the exact same problem. she went to a doctor and they gave her birth control pills (and she knows she's not pregnant, too). Don't worry too much though. Why not research the internet or go to a library? But, i bet your doctor could help you the most.
I'm sure it's common.

If you are only 16, then one would believe that you still live at home. Why hasn't anyone else noticed that you haven't had your period. I certainly would with my daughter. Talk to your mom, or dad if need be, and see a gynecologist for a medical determination.

You really need to go see a doctor.
You could have infections that could make your period stop. If you do have an infection - the infection needs to be treated - and cured - or it could lead to more serious complications.
Go see a gynoclogist .. it's important.
