I can count. But I think it's better for them to count my change back to me than to just shove it in my hand.

Now you know my opinion, what is yours?

It is really important that they do count it back, as I have had it go both ways. Sometimes they give you too much, sometimes not enough. I have also been a cashier for many years and I choose to count it back to make sure I got it right because I don't want to have to pay the difference if my till is off.
So no, it does not annoy me when other cashiers count it back to me. It shows that they know how to do their job -- although not very many of them know how to count it back the PROPER way anymore. But hey, at least they try.

Not in front of the cashier I don't, that may be kind of offensive. But I do when I walk away, especially if it is a large amount of change.

It only bothers people that had good customer service in the past. At least the register tells them how much to give you back, I ran one that didn't, and you did count it out.

Yes it saves time and confusion if they count it in front of you. I have found people who don't count in front of you will more often short change you.

Yes it does because sometimes they might think you gave them a 10 when you gave a 20 and you don't figure this out until you go to the next store and notice you are short.

Usually I get more back if they don't count, so I'm fine with it!
