I would surrender, cross my fingers, and try to defend myself against the prosecution. It should be no problem, since I would be innocent. At least, ideally, that is how it should work. In practice, however, that's not always the case. Being convicted for a murder you didn't commit... that's got to be one of the worst feelings a person could have -- especially if you get the death penalty. One day everything's fine, you're leading a relatively good life, and then you're arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced for something you had nothing to do with and nobody that can change the situation believes you. That has to suck.
