The pipes are this kind http://img.alibaba.com/photo/51696230/UPVC_Water_Pipe_Fittings.jpg (paste the link onto your browser). Can you tell me what tools we need and what to do? If possible, can you give me a link? Thanks so much!

PVC..... pretty simple. The "EASIEST" way is go to Home depot/Lowe's...whatever is near your home. Buy some PVC cutters $5.00- 15.00. Cut the pipe beyond the break. Take the broken parts with you ,don't take them apart, just take the whole section with you back to the store and have them help you with the replacement parts. It's VERY hard to really tell without a picture, but you can probably fix the whole thing for $30.00-40.00 and that includes the cutters. Don't be afraid of it, you just glue and stick together.....kind of like tinker toys.

If it is the white PVC plastic pipe coming out of the ground got busted off, just cut it off to a nice even end, scrape off any burrs inside and outside. (Depending on where it broke off, you might need to dig down to it to get to the end of the pipe). Then get a coupling for whatever size the pipe is, (take a piece of the old pipe with you to the store, if necessary) any elbows necessary to get around obstructions that might be present, a length of the same diameter pipe and whatever adapter(s) you need to get from the pipe to the fawcet. (for example, if the pipe is 3/4" and the threaded hole on the fawcet is a 1/2" "female" thread, you would need a 3/4" PVC to 1/2" NPT "male" to attach the fawcet)You will need to get the "primer/ cleaner" and the glue for the pipe. Usually, all this stuff can be got an any decent hardware store or home center; it shouldn't be that much money. The instructions for priming/gluing are usually right on the containers. I would suggest you install some kind of solid post to attach the repaired fawcet to so it won't get busted off again. Once it's glued, don't presurize for at least a day.
