alright i'm facing a small dilemma. my husband and i are each from different states. I'm from virginia and he's from lousiana and there is pretty much no way to get the families together at the same time no matter how much notice is given in advance. he's also in the military so we cant just take time off here and there to make it extremely convenient so i was wondering if babies can be christened twice? i was going to do it here in virginia since my family here will be together for thanksgiving anyways then when we went to lousiana for christmas all of his family would be there as well. is there a rule that says you cant do that? just curious...thanks in advance

I really dont know if babies can be christened twice,if you cant, you could always have a christening and then a naming and blessing service, both are equally as special, and then both of your familys can share you little ones special day,
hope you have a lovely time on your special days,

Ps. i know it has nothing to do with your question but well done to your husband for the hard job that he and his fellow people do, it must be so hard for you all. xxx

Since there are many different traditions and ceremonies, I may be confused. There is no rule against dedicating your child to God's service in more than one service or ceremony. Talk with your pastor about specific traditions within your congregation or denomination.

it is not likely that any church will allow you to have your child baptized a second time, however, there is a blessing ceremony in most churches which presents the already baptized child to the congregation. discuss it with you ministers.
