Hi Mr. Frewster. Hehe funny but cute question. It would defeat the purpose of being a bird. It would be cute if they skipped though haha imagine it. Also, remember that there are more than twenty types of birds that do not fly. Some examples are: Emus, ostriches, rheas, cassowaries and penguins. Have a good one!

Its like saying, why dont you swim from New York to Great Britain, or why dont you walk to Bakersfield form Los Angeles. The answer is because driving or flying, or sailing would be faster, and more convenient. Also, skipping, birds cant skip without falling on their face.

probably because flying is a lot more efficent, faster, and easier way to travel.
Have you ever thought how long it would take a Bird to skip a mile? Probably forever.

If you observe the habits of crows and magpies, they have a tendency to hop and skip across the ground. This movement was cleverly copied in several Disney films!

The same reason we don't fly. They have different bodies and functions than we do. They do actually walk but not as a primary form of transportation.

Many birds walk, get outside and watch some pigeons, ducks, cranes, sandpipper (they skip too), penguins
