The Rockie Mountains in Colorado

In the valleys, Spring is wonderful. The summers are generally mild and the humidity is fairly low.

Lots of places for hiking, outdoor activities and camping.

During the summer it is spring at about 10,000 feet and above.

The Alpine meadows are starting to bloom through the fading snow. I especially like to catch my own fish for dinner...I gather up fresh wild shallots from the meadows, and they help make the meal delicious.

Up in the mountains fall starts sometimes as early as late July; usually in August.

The Aspens turn to gold...it is a magnificent site. The air gets crisp again, and campers trade in their tents for ski's and snowshoes.

Winters can be brutal at any elevation (Denver is already a mile high) but as soon as the snow storms stop, you realize again what a wonderful and beautiful place it is.

Good places to visit in Colorado:

Glenwood Springs, home of the worlds largest outdoor hot springs pool. From there it is an easy drive to either Vail or Aspen.

Estes Park...closed from early fall until late spring due to the roads closing. A great natural park from late spring through early fall.

The San Juan Mountain Range in Southwest Colorado. These are still "The Rockies", with a different feel than Vail or Aspen.

A 4 wheel drive path connects Silverton, Ouray and Lake City from late June until September. Lake City is especially great, because it is the hardest to get to, so you avoid the tourist crunches you get at other hot spots.

Turks & Caicos at the Beaches resort ! Besides that I love Ocean City, Maryland. I've grown up going there every summer since I was a baby, and I always run into all my friends at the beach or boardwalk. Everyone in Maryland goes there. And we can afford to go there a lottt more then Turks & Caicos :) Love, Michalea
