Jane Tanner doesn't know what she saw because there was nothing to see. First the child was wrapped in a blanket, then it wasn't. Then it was dark and Tanner couldn't see what the "child"was wearing.,then it was pink pyjamas. Then she couldn't see the "abducter's" face , then she was sure it was Murat because she saw his funny eye. Then the Bundleman was walking towards the beach, then he was walking towards Murat's house.Then Tanner said she saw Gerry talking to Wilkins outside the apartment when she saw the "abducter" but neither Gerry nor Wilkins saw the "abducter". The McCanns were accused of being liars after they did the last "tear jerking" interview and the same will happen to Tanner after the Panorama programme.

I saw part of her interview on television news. She was totally unconvincing and did not appear in the slightest genuine. I do not believe she saw anyone. Perhaps things have not gone to plan as the McCann team had anticipated. Is she running scared? It has taken her an awful long time to say anything and I agree she did seem totally detached and disinterested. I think the whole team is finding it very difficult to distinguish between the truth and what they have been conditioned to say. Surely one of them will slip up eventually.

She is a liar. This invented story is very sinister because it suggests premeditation, i.e. that early on that evening events took a very nasty turn and a plan was made and stories were made up.
Remember also: the broken shutter that never was.

If she's saying that she didn't see the mans face, but that he had long, greasy hair, how come now, she is stating that it is Robert Murat, who has short hair, that she saw with Madeleine?
The woman is a pure liar.

she must think we are completely stupid. Also, to my mind, she has that same detached look when discussing it that Kate has. I mean, this is a child she knew really well. She has no emotion other than for herself and Kate when she talks about it. Scary stuff.

Eye witnesses are notoriously unreliable.......I think that anything this lady says should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

I don't know what is wrong with that woman, if she was serious then she would have said this all those months ago when madeline went missing. Seriously, you never know what to believe.

no one knows what was said when madeleine disappeared because no one was allowed to speak in public. portuguese law said that.
how could jane have known that it may have been maddy, when at the time she didnt know maddie was missing?.

its on TV on mon night panorma i think. we'll prob see real tears this time she poss is able to cry unlike the McCons who cant show the real emotion they feel------------relief at getting away with it. shes also had plenty of coaching too to prepare for her web of lies
