how do i get the local area network icon in my network places, can i download it from somewhere?

just setup a network router, now the secondary pc is connected, but mine doesn't have the software, i.e, the local area network icon in my network places, can someone pls send me the link so i can download it, cheers ...

Sounds like you don't have drivers for your network card.
Try:
start -- control panel -- system -- hardware tab -- device manager. and see if you have any network adapters. if you do look for a red x or a yellow exclaimation point. this may help solve your problem.

If you have a card but no drivers you can usually download the drivers from the manufacturer's website. Download them to the secondary computer. Flash-key them over to the first, Install and go.
