if your internet connection is through the cable (broadband)

1)shut everything down.
plug modem into cable and power up
connect ethernet cable from modem to computer, power up
- do you have a connection (yes, go to step 2)
If no connection with modem and computer cycle power and try again.

2) power everything off, turn on modem, plug ethernet cable from modem to router, power up router. Now plug ethernet cable from router to PC, powe up PC, should have connection.

Still no luck, or using a DSL modem, try this link

This is a really easy setup for you. All you need to do is purchase a wireless router. Wireless routers come with hard wired ports as well as the wireless function and they've come down in price quite a bit. The great thing about routers these days is that they function right out of the box and do not need to be configured. You simply plug in its power source, connect the hard ethernet cables into the router and do a Wi-Fi scan on your wireless computers/laptops and it will pick up the router's access point. Make sure all your computers are set to DHCP which will automatically assign IP addresses to your computers and you're done.

have power off to both 660 and linksys; plug the yellow cord from the 660 to the internet port on the linksys; power up 660 and wait for 3 green lights to come on (pwr, dsl, and int); pwr up linksys; when all lights are on linksys you should be able to connect to linksys network wirelessly if that's what you want or just pull up internet explorer if you aren't doing a wireless connection

Liz gave a great answer, but I thought I'd clarify that "World" means your internet line, wether it be a phone line, DSL line, or cable line.

Goodluck

BTW, you messed up the wires 'trouble shooting the internet speed' ?? hahaha ,, sorry, that was funny !!
