Did you ever think the lead singer of a band has/had an amazing voice, but you just could never fully appreciate it because you never got into the band?

I never got into Whitesnake, but I love David Coverdales' voice (good thing there's Deep Purple!)

You?

Queensryche. Geoff Tate has an amazing voice but I can't take the band. It really does nothing for me.

You know Me Sarah...I love old Whitesnake and Purple. the closest example here I can give you for Me is Journey.
I adore Steve Perry's voice. The guy is glass-shattering. And I am very big into Journey. BUT only their first five albums.
Journey through Evolution. After that it was all about the saccharine pop. And to Me...UGHHHHHHH.
I just say no.
I have a great reverse example for You too. Pearl Jam.
Love the band they have skill and great ability.
I absolutely cannot stand Eddie Vedder's voice. I would much rather listen to nails on a blackboard than listen to that man sing.
He KILLS Me.

RE: How do you feel about Adam Gontier, lead singer of Three Days Grace, leaving the band? Three Days Grace announced on their official Facebook that Adam has resigned due to a "non life threatening health issue" and will be replaced (for the tour at least) by My Darkest Days' Matt Walst. Personally, this ruined my day... no one can replace Adam's voice, even though...

I can only think of one example, and it's a singer not a band. Have you listened to Nick Cave's Murder Ballads? One of the songs was a duet with Kylie Minogue...it was a fairly popular song in the 90s. It's called Where The Wild Roses Grow. I'm not a fan at all of Kylie's music, but I do like her voice. She did good in the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRMe5H9WKpM

I don't think that's what your were meaning, but that's all I got for now :-S

Edit: Good, because I wasn't sure. I'm too tired to think right now...I need to take a nap or something.

More so the opposite. Ive really enjoyed alot of the music from certain bands but really disliked their singers. So I always look for instrumental versions

I love Stevie Nicks' voice, but I could never really get into Fleetwood Mac. Their songs were all about the same things.
