If the temperature control is OK and any settings for controlling the amount of chilled air entering the refrigerator vs freezer seem OK. it might be low on gas (freon). I know this sounds crazy, but low gas often make them run cold and freeze food.

It could be a couple of issues. One, is fridge compartment at a normal temp or is it real cold too? If the fridge is OK (38-40 degrees), or higher, then you may have a blockage in the opening that allows cold air to flow from the freezer to the fridge. The thermostat may be bad as well. The coils should be cleaned in the rear, but that being dirty will cause the compressor to overheat and NOT cool enough.

The temperature adjustment knob might be on the highest setting. Find the knob and make a note of the setting it is on. If it can be turned down, try that.
