Do you even know what Communism is? Or did you parents treat it like the big bad boogie man and you're just passing that along?

Pure socialism and pure communism FAIL: They degrade into something else - most famously Stalinism. And that's bad. True.

But that doesn't mean that all ideas from socialism and communism are inherently bad. Along that same line of rationale then everything from Capitalism is bad too. Pure Carnegian Capitalism is incredibly cruel.

Clearly, we need other ideas, or ideas that are inbetween. Capitalism and private forces are great for some things and terrible at others. Gee, how are private armies working out?

And clearly (looking at other countries), socialized medicine is simply better. Long lines? Ever been to an emergency room in a big American city?

I have experience the medical care in many countries, with and without socialized medicine - and you know what? American doctors are right - socialized medicine is better. That is, more people who NEED care get it. It is more efficient and spends less money on paperwork.

That's not just single-payer doctors saying that, that is the majority of American doctors saying that.

I'll bet you have never directly experienced medicine out of this country.

So ... go read some Marx. Go experience things overseas.

Go learn something instead of just repeating what your parents tell you.

Yes, Democrats ARE for the government doing some things that Republicans aren't for. That doesn't mean we want Stalinism. It doesn't even mean we want Communism or socialism.

The world is just not that simple.

enable me preface my answer by ability of putting forward that i'm no longer a non secular human being, yet nor am I an atheist. That reported, there is actual no longer something incorrect with prayer. no matter if it reaches the ears of a god or gods, and no matter if there is an answer, i imagine that putting forth good will for our fellow human beings is a gracious act in itself. in case you experience vulnerable to wish for others, then that situation will probable (and may) educate up itself on your each and each day moves besides. the in difficulty-free words time that i imagine that prayer is fully meaningless is at the same time as that's finished for egocentric motives - including praying that your activities crew wins a competition or that you'll win the lottery. In a international the position good will commonly comes with a cost or expectancies of reciprocation, giving it in any kind can in difficulty-free words be a good element.

Turn off FOX Opinions. It is obviously turning your brain to mush and stopping all intelligent and rational thought from even forming. If America has ever been close to a communistic state it is right now under GW (actually more fascist than communist).

Forget economics - after seven long years of right-wing extremism, you should be praying your rear-end off that the Democrats win and restore some common decency to this country. Or are you counting on Rudy Guiliani to do that?

Actually, the Democrats support a free-market capitalist economy, they just believe a free-market capitalist economy requires a level playing field (thus you get affirmative action, a minimum wage, unions, etc.) You don't necessarily have to agree with all their policies (I don't) but to call it socialism or communism is to show complete ignorance of the competing economic models.
