All 3 men in the question have,or had outstanding careers in professional sports, all 3 of them happen to be black. Is there a conspiracy to ruin and/or tarnish careers of black athletes who have made their mark in professional sports?
On the other hand, how many white men can you think of that their careers were ruined by making bias statements against black men.(Jimmy the Greek,Howard Cosell,"The Dog--A&E's bounty hunter),(Kramer character of Seinfeld..even Jerry Seinfeld is affected by it).
What is there to gain by ruining these men's lives ?
Do some people just hang around waiting for an excuse to make other people's lives miserable ?
All opinions welcome.

correction to Henry Jones..it is Travis Henry..sorry..Henry former player of the Bills,
Add Michael Vick and Ricky Williams to the list also.
All these players have much talent and the mass media has robbed the public of what these players can provide to everyone including children..it is called entertainment.
Kind of like that song "Dirty Laundry " of the 80's..where the newscasters talk about a plane crash with a gleam in their eye.
I am sickened by all the people with nooses in their hands looking for another victim.

These former athletes are and have ruined their own carriers. No conspiracy is in the works. What they are doing is feeding into the old stereo type of the nasty black man that some idiots fall for. Anyone who is in the public eye and does wrong would get this same treatment. It also falls on what and how you behave after the incident.

Hold the phone. you cannot lump OJ Simpson in the same categories with the other two gentlemen. He is a whole other kettle of fish.. And there are plenty of white athletes that have broken the rules and gotten grief..Look at Pete Rose for example. All athletes know that steroid use is prohibited. If an athlete goes ahead with using it, then he should face the penalties levied.
When are athletes going to stop behaving like there is a separate set of rules just for them. The list of criminal behaviour displayed by celebrities and athletes is appalling to say the least.. Rape, drug use, illegal weapons, tax evasion, gambling, physical violence, murder. Should athletes be excused of these types of crimes simply because they can hit a ball further, run faster or jump higher??

i've only heard of OJ...not the other 2. OJ isn't a conspiracy. I don't follow sports but I have followed OJ and he is a crook, black, white, yellow, purple. I could give a rats *** about his color. An funny you should mention the incident regarding Michael Richard. How many black comedians, hispanic comedians for that matter, constantly degrade white ppl and get nothing but laughs? That seems to be perfectly acceptable. Their humor at times may seem self deprecating, but they certainly manage to get away with a lot more. Just my observation.

Yeah, it's all a giant conspiracy. Was Pete Rose black? He must've been - afterall, his gambling problem was only revealed as a way to ruin and/or tarnish his career (it had nothing to do with the fact that he did something wrong).

I get sick and tired of this racist b.s. If you can't do the time, then don't do the crime - I don't give a damn whether you're black, white or chartreuse!! -RKO- 11/17/07

I don't think anyone is looking to "gain" anything for exposing those criminals. I think most people just don't want THEM to gain from their criminal actions.
To be able to prove your point, one would have to attack Emmitt Smith (the overall NFL rushing leader). He won Dancing with the Stars, which would indicate he is pretty well liked. He has never been in a scandal, which would suggest he is an honest person...and you never hear anything bad about the guy..but I promise you, if he shoots his wife, we WILL turn on him (WE being PEOPLE...not white people)...we would also turn on Joe Montana for the same thing.
To prove the point on Barry Bonds, one would have to attack Hank Aaron, and that hasn't happened, because he hasn't broken any laws...but if he robs a liquor store and blames it on someone else and then lies about it in court, we will turn on him too...but we would do the same thing to A-Rod or McGuire or Chipper Jones...well, you get the point.

When people stop pointing out what color the criminals are, people will stop looking a what color they are.

I only know about Simpson, not the other two, but it seems pretty obvious that Simpson is guilty. It's nothing to do with colour. Would white athletes get let off a crime is that what you're saying? I don't think so!
