I see nothing wrong with men or women who don't marry.

Some people want to stay independant, some don't. Generally it is more of an "acheivment" for a woman to be on their own because we yearn for appreciation and love. Men don't so much so I guess they just don't think it's as special.

I think men have a right to be on their own...women too.

I'm not keen on feminists. I believe in women having rights but because of them we have to get a job and a career and are not allowed to just be housewives anymore. All these feminists were generally full of testosterone, and I understand why they feel the way they do, but a lot of women want to be married, and I think they deserve as much attention as those who do not marry and are "liberated" and "self dependant".

Everyone is different, regardless of gender.

I don't like people being sexist against men like that. I agree that men and women are different but I do not agreed that there should be double standards.

Like women who sleep around are whores, and men who sleep around are lucky...?

I haven't heard the one about single men, but in my opinion, women all have their own feelings about getting married or staying single. I don't plan to ever get married because the idea of always having someone there disturbs me. There are some women who are incapable of being without a man, and others could go either way. It depends on the person. Many feminists believe that if a woman does not have to have a man, and can support herself without help as liberated. Yet other women who are married, believe that women who are still single are spinsters. The prejudice goes either way.

I would rather hear them being referred to as "liberated" than the many other negative terms I've heard for women who don't get married. A man who chooses not to get married only gets speculation that he might be gay but a woman who does the same gets called names like "old maid", "spinster", "crone", "hag", "lesbian", "man hater", "selfish", and "frigid". All these childish comments about those who don't marry need to stop. Not everybody wants to get married, have 2.3 children, a dog, and a house in the suburbs with a white picket fence. This world would be a better place if more people were able to mind their own business and accept that not everybody wants to be like them.

If man hasn't married by the age of 50, there's usually a very good reason for it. I have no problem matchmaking for my women friends of that age, whether divorced or never married, but I won't touch the "confirmed bachelors" no matter how they ask. They're all pathetic losers and just plain weird.

I think the social status of women are usually lower than men nowadays in many parts of this world. For instance, an islamic man can marry as many as four women and the married women not neccessarily a muslim. However an Abrab girl must only marry a muslim. In many decades ago, a Chinese girl,s marrige must be consented by her parents. This means a single girl was not allowed to date a man. This simply because discrimination against the feminists do exist at present. Women don't marry can be regarded as the exposure of women's rights on the move to the right direction.
Liberated simply reflecting as has the guts to be independent, that's why many women are getting men's jobs, particularly in managerial positions.

this may well be a case of a few undesirable apples spoiling the entire bunch. not all American adult adult males are psychologically sturdy, and this places ANY lady in ability danger. women people of many nationalities have been crushed and killed by ability of violent male batterers. adult adult males have not got the desirable to intimidate, verbally abuse, or bodily abuse women people inspite of the place the ladies each and every person is from. wow, that's a new one i have never heard of. I don't remember hearing anyone call hugh hefner or george clooney selfish, ever. Clooney is still the most eligible bachelor and everyone wants him and most men want to be him. So i am not sure where you get your assumptions from but they are not consistent with reality

I think the context of this question is dated , there is no such thing as a feminist , it is purely a choice which holds a name , as liberated , as feminist , or whatever when the real answer is choice , the choice of whatever any person choses is there perogative or choice , which is nothing I or any person can argue , as it is a persons free will to be as they choose to be.

i do think you have your facts a little skewed here. if a fem. believed marriage was a form of slavery, then wouldn't they be relieved when a man opted out thereby sparing some poor woman of a lifetime of servitude?

truth is people in general have a hard time understanding the motivations of those who are not like them.

Marriage is for insecure people. Most people marry not for love, but out of fear of dying alone. Sad... I might even be one of the losers I'm talking about one day... scary.
