Do you choose to be straight... do you choose to like Caramel over Toffee? Do Gays wake up one morning and say "I think I'll be gay now"...any body who thinks so must be a really closed minded idiotic fool. They choose to practice homosexual things... if you mean this, than yeah it's a choice.. but I don't blame them.

Okay - this seems a never ending cycle here! Choice is a word that can have different connotations depending on what stand point you have in the 'debate' I agree that things like attraction and instinct they are pretty 'tuned in', a part of our makeup. However what some people would imply by choice is that either you can choose to ignore those base urges and live a 'correct' life or that you can choose to travel the right path and not be gay. Therefore by being gay you are choosing to be gay, because you are subscribing to a lifestyle. The reality is being gay, as with sexuality in general means alot of things to alot of different people. Just because I have a same sex partner, does not suddenly mean I am a part of some kind of brotherhood or psuedo-cult. I am me, warts and all and that is how I choose to be.
Therefore no one who has any basic understanding of sexuality can say we choose to be gay in the sense of we might choose to buy a pair of shoes from the shop. However we do choose to be the people we are by making the choices we make in life.

What worries me is that you do get people on here and they seem to be from the christian section, who do believe that you can choose and try to give advice base on this totally wrong assumption. I am concerned that they may be in a position, outside this forum, where they are actually advising young people and causing those youngsters a lot of harm and grief

The only homosexual choice I am aware of is

Do I do the blond athletic guy in the short shorts with the straps of his jock showing,

or

Do I do his coach?

In order to be a practicing homosexual, you've got to practice everyday. I can tutor you if you need more intensive, personal lessons.

I agree it makes no sense, there's no choice. Get Freud out of his grave and tell him otherwise. people just don't change overnight, that's how they are and that's that. Why not live and let live,eh?
I totally agree with you

I believe that that the GLBT is a life style, i.e. choice. you say it is not, thats fine lets agree to disagree, but wouldn't your stance also be close minded of you?
