She has been and always will be my favorite. Get the album Pearl. And I have another one with Summertime on it. I almost got to see her in person and then the person that was to cover for me backed out and everyone else went and said she was terrific. She was so good. She recorded lots of songs but while everyone loved to see her perform, noone really bought a lot of records. See the move with Beth Midler The Rose. That is a takeoff of her life and the music is good. I just bought a CD of Pearl so I know it's out there still. . .I have bought it in everytype of media that ever was. . I think. . .And isn't it strange that I just discovered Benny Goodman-not just his swing stuff but some really good jazz. Oh yea-he was before my time. There is so much good music forgotten in the past.
And funny was my great nephews embarrassment when we both showed up with Pink Floyd T-shirts. If you can't find the Summertime album, email me and I will dig through my 78's and get you the list of songs. It's not as good as Pearl.
She was also at Woodstock. They have a small clip of her and then they flash to this lady who is just laughing at her style. You have to picture her before she jumped into the 60's and 70's with her little pink tight skirt and cashmere sweater singing outlandishly for the time. Before she was done they flashed back tothe lady and she was in tears. I think it was-A Woman Left Lonely. Could have been any of them. . .

'Mercedez Benz' is a terrific track, also 'Try (just a little bit harder)' and 'Me and Bobby McGee' and, oh all sorts!
