I found an old rusty horse shoe in my window well on the side of my house. My house has a history: it was an old cape but then they razed it, and made a new house. My basement and foundation is the same though. I am trying to get the rust off the top because it says something, so i soaked it in vinegar. I think it says Rodeo. But I want to know what year it is from to see how old it is. Any ideas how to get the rust off and get fing out what year it is from?

Your local hardware store or automotive store should carry a product called 'naval jelly'. I remember it as a pink colored goop in a clear bottle. Apply it to the horseshoe and wait according to directions. It works wonders at melting rust away. Be sure to coat it in some sort of oil to prevent the rust from returning or use a rustoleum paint.
