Not me. I am mid-40's and... why do teenage girls wear that stuff anyway? But I digress.
I don't wear it because I think it looks silly for me to dress like someone less than half my age.
I don't wear the things kindegartners or gradeschoolers wear.
Why? Because I am no longer in gradeschool.
I am a grown woman and my clothing reflects the good taste of womanhood with which God has graced me.

Because they like the jeans and because they don't want to be dictated to by some spotty faced teenager as to what they can and can't wear.
I'm 26 and I won't even wear low cut jeans so admire those women of 40 plus who do. Lots of them are in better shape than girls my age group anyway, they have the body so why not?
However there is low cut and then there is LOW CUT. It has to be tasteful, no butt cracks showing or that is just taking it to far no matter what age you are.

I'm in my 40's. I wear the low cut jeans. I remember when they went out of style and the high waisted pants came into style. I hung on to mine till I had to give them up. I thought those high waisers were the ugliest, stupidest looking things I had ever seen. I still do. They are very uncomfortable as well. They sit right on the part of your mid section that has no hip bone, or any thing to keep them from digging right into your abdoman.I was so excited to see low risers come back in style. I will be just as stubborn about giving them up this time as I was last time. When they can no longer be found and mine are tattered beyond use. One good thing this time is EBAY! I don't wear belly shirts or any of that so no one should know where they land anyway unless they are studying me way too hard. Besides they do look good on me. It has nothing to do with trying to look 20. I don't care anything about looking 20. I'm proud of my age. It's all about comfort. It's none of anybodies business what waist height anybody elses jeans are anyway. Differences in people is what makes the world go around. If we were all concerned too much with what other people thought there would be no Pauly Shore's, or Carrot Top's etc...Thank goodness some of us just don't care that much what people think. that has never been my problem. I also want to add that I don't wear what kindergartners or gradeschoolers wear either. I am strictly about comfort.God bless!!

Hmm...who is to say 40 year olds can't wear low rise jeans? I'm in my 30s and I will rock low rise jeans as long as my body allows me to...
I think it's more about body type than age...I would rather see a 40 yr old with a kick @#$ body wearing them than someone that has muffin top (no matter what the age...teen to 100).
What do you suggest people over 40 wear? High waisted jeans? Ewww!
P.S It's not about looking younger, because I love my age, it's about looking good!

For some, I know that it's because it's really hard to find the normal, non-low cut jeans nowadays. These days, almost all the designs are low (for these ladies. not just the low-cut types)

That is a good question! I am over 50 and have often wondered the same thing. I think allot of of it has to do with the whole "getting old thing". Some women have a problem with that and think that by wearing the younger fashions they look younger. It isn't true of course, but they need to think it is!

they want to look & feel younger and try to fit in with younger people..
if they have a really good body and look 27 then it wouldnt be bad, but usually its the ones that have a little TOO MUCH to be wearing those jeans.

I have no concept yet its disgusting. i think of a few human beings do no longer understand they are fat and no-one needs to be certain it. in basic terms the former day there became this lady donning a bikini precise to the mall and her fat abdomen became putting over her skirt. Ew it became gross.

IF they got the body for it...which I do, why not...when you say women in their forties you need to remember these women are all 40 or over:
Madonna
Pamela Anderson
Marcia Cross
Nicolette Sheriandan
Christie Brinkley
Brooke Shields
Demi Moore
Rachel Hunter
Sandra Bullock....
Many women take very good care of themselves, my body well out does most 20 year olds but I work very hard to maintain it.....
