I would compromise with:

Banning of smoking, drinking, obesity, fatty foods, including sodas

Forcing everyone to exercize 30 in 3 days week and have semiannual wiegh in.

Also forcing girls old enough to have children to be on BC until they were 18.

and on top of that banning people who carry certain genes and could pass horrific illnesses onto their children from having children.

Also, refusing services for illegals and making everyone take physical driving tests every year to requalify for a license

Universal health coverage, never. It is another scam by insurance companies and the politicians in their pockets (and such dupes as they can sucker along with them).

Universal health care, yes. Countries that have it provide better care, cheaper. They also have lower retirement agesm lower taxes and shorter work-weeks, Check out the actual conditions in Germany, France, and the Commonwealth, rather than political hype.

i think forcing people who can afford insurance to buy it would be a step in the right direction...and if exercise and proper diet are good enough for the military it ought to be good enough for the rest of us
