Is it possible for the baby's heartbeat not to show up on an ultrasound, but still be fine? I had an ultrasound at 8.5 weeks was told baby was really healthy and saw a great heartbeat. Went back for the 12 week scan, saw full in tact larger baby, but they said there was no heartbeat, so the baby had died. Should i get another ultrasound? Is it possible that the baby was turned a weird way? Has anyone not seen a heartbeat one day but had an ultrasound a few days later and there was a heartbeat? I'm pretty confused as I was told that once you see a healthy heartbeat the chance of miscarriage drops drastically.

crikey, surely they didnt just tell you that and let you leave!!!! If it helps i know with my sisters baby they couldnt find a heartbeat at that stage, though i have to admit she is very large and they said that was why they couldnt detect it, obviously i dont know much about yourself.

Good luck and sending hope your way x
