It was expected that Ilya Bryzgalov would be claimed off waivers by Pheonix. As we have yet to see a single Coyotes fan in this section, I ask if Bryz will be the answer for the Pheonix Coyotes.

Bryzgalov and Auld would make a great pairing. I don't see Phoenix (or any team) claiming him unless they can get some sort of assurance that he'll still be there on July 2, 2008.

Bryzgalov certainly deserves a chance to be a daily starter in the NHL, but at best, he's one answer for a Coyote team that has about a dozen questions.

no just disappointed. Even with Johnson's great play as of late (save the game against Tampa) I thought maybe, just maybe McPhee would see that a STELLAR goalie was up for grabs, and act on it. A goalie from the same country as many of his players, and that fills a role his team needs to be stronger in. But that's what i get for being a Caps fan :-D.

It won't hurt the Coyotes this year, but the future remains uncertain. Bryzalov has had some success in playoffs, but whether or not he is that 60-games a season solid performer ever team needs remains to be answered. And it may never be answered in Phoenix.

The problem is, and this is one reason why Burke had trouble dealing him, he is an unrestricted free agent as of July 1.

So who's out, Auld or Telly?
I would have liked to see Tellqvist get a decent shot at the job, his numbers are not too bad considering the defense in front of him.

You think the Ducks released him to make cap space for Niedermayer?

I think I'll have to go with Sharks Baby--sure he's a great goalie, but the 'Yotes have other problems besides goaltending to deal with

But um...i doubt it. Phoenix has a lot of other problems to work out besides goal tending.

A new management team might help.
