If so....am I the only silly person out there who originally misunderstood the fine print where it says "some coins may be returned"?

I think I originally thought it meant that you may get some coins back when you take your voucher to the cashier! LOL

yes, I did. Coinstar offers AMAZON gift certificates and NO CHARGE to count coins if you convert your coins to this. (Usually about 8 cents per dollar fee) For about a month, they offered an additional free $ 10 Amazon certificate and free counting if you redeemed $ 30 in coins in a single transaction. Well, I had the $ 30 and the machine jammed three times, giving back some coins and putting others in the "DIRT CUP". I had to have store personnel at Kroger open the machine three times, and each time it printed a different certificate, except for the first one-that was for a certificate of $ 25.67 Amazon code. It would not take the rest of the change for certificate ($ 10 minimum) so it took the change for cash and charged a fee. Store personnel had to call Coinstar twice to get someone in authority to approve the mail in format to get the free $ 10 because the machine made it impossible to get the $ 30 by taking fees. The store had to refund my fees and Coinstar had to reimburse the store and I had to mail in the proofs and it was a nightmare. It took a month to straighten it all out and today (11/17), about ONE MONTH after I mailed in the proofs--twice, they finally e-mailed me with the free $ 10 code. What a nightmare. NEVER AGAIN !!!

I use it all the time. It cost like 8% but it is a great service to get rid of your stored up coins.

I did not miss the message 'some coins may be returned' ... but I think I forgot to check the coin return a couple of times.

Max l have done is about £100. I remember reading that there is a limit you can redeem in any one transaction. Probably best to split the cash between you and your dad and take turns to redeem it. Well done and a cracking find. Best thing l found in my attic was a pair of old shoes and lord lucan!! lol!!
