my PLATY fish has been pregnant for 27 days that ive been keeping track for. is there any way that I could speed up the pregnancy. I really want the fish to be born. But idk if it wants to give birth in her breeding net. shes always bumping at it to get out of it. will she eventually give birth in it even tho she doesn't like it. if you could answer those 2 questions that would be nice.

Platies can hold their fry until they feel the environment is suitable. Breeding nets are really small, and the fish probably doesn't feel like it is the best environment to drop her fry. If you could move the pregnant fish into a separate tank, or into a tank with very few fish and a LOT of hiding spots, it would give birth very quickly. Turning up the temperature a few degrees may also induce your fish to drop the fry earlier, but this can be risky because you might force it to drop before she is ready... Really, the best thing you can do is get her out of the breeding net, and into a real tank... Contact me if you have any questions.

If you have been counting 27 days then it will be time any day now! There gestation period is usually between 28 to 34 days. So it want be long and you will be a brand new mom!! :+) If she don't seem to like her breeding net, put in some fine leaf or bushy plants. That may feel normal for her because that is where they usually have their fry. When they are born, crush up some fish food into real fine powder and they will eat that. Good Luck and hang in there, nature will take its course!!!!

if she is pregnant, every time quickly she'll supply beginning. putting around the backside is effective. some fish will try this through added weight of the advent up little ones, and to discover a quiet place faraway from the different fish. i'd advise which you maintain observing her. if she provides beginning in the subsequent week, you're effective. if she produces no little ones, then she would have dropsy, the place you will would desire to make the call to the two attempt to handle her or positioned her out of her misery. i'm hoping this facilitates, and that i'm hoping for the main suitable.

u cat speed pregnacy! BUT!! I would go to your local pet stor or petsmart and buy that breeding grass and putt it at the bottom of the tank! thats where the babies will hide! and where she will give birh to them! Smart thing to do is buy a fish bowl and put the baies in their because when i has fish and they gave birth to their babies as soon as they came out they were aten!~

I dont think it is possible to speed up a fish's delivery time. Just be patient and the fry will come when they come. It will pay off in the long run! ;)

Try and buy a breeder tank....its small and you put it in your main tank and it floats on the top...look on youtube and you will see lots of guppies breeding in a breed tank...
Thanks
