Gosh golly gee, of course! Because, you know, Earth isn't the only place out there that has the right conditions to support human life, and surely we have enough money to build all those spaceships to stuff six billion people in. Everyone wants to start over to a time like Adam and Eve's, because everything built on Earth is a complete waste of millions of years. Global warming won't happen again, because we humans know how to prevent it, we just don't feel like stopping it right now. Oh, and don't forget that there's hope that we might not die! Maybe we'll end up being immortal, and the whole world will become so crowded with the living that we'll have to start over again!

[Rolls eyes.]

If leaving was even slightly possible, don't you think scientists would have developed a way by now? If you think this question has a meaning to it, you're wrong. But thanks for trying.

Global Warming will destroy Earth in about 4 billion years.

In the mean time if you know some way to evacuate all the whiny @ss chicken little libs, you will have done humanity a great service.

Hey, I'm all for clean air and water, but isn't it time we had Al Gore committed.

Yes, some of us. We need to work on things like Biosphere 2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosphere_2

With advances in that science, we could create an artificial earth-like environment on another planet or satellite (natural or artificial). It would take awhile, but without that the human race will die with the earth and we don't know how long the earth has left.

(And Mysterian, I'll bet you saw "When Worlds Collide." That's what happened in that.)

And go where? The space station can hold about 12 people, and only for a short time. The effort and expense it would take to create another place for us and to get us all there is far less than it would take to fix our problems here at home.

This planet has been a lot warmer, historically. And of course, a lot cooler. There is no "thermastat setting" that says what's right for this planet, despite what's ideal for humans. Humans may become extinct, but the planet will continue to change and thrive.

The cost of shifting the entire population of the planet would be rather prohibitive, don't you think.

Surely that money would be better spent in trying to fix the problems we have here on Earth.
