Yes welfare can be very easy for those that know the system. It is a sad thing but it is true. There are jobs out there that are available to all ages but you have to want to work. My son is 13yrs old and works part time on a farm. He likes his own money. But the teaching from us has given him this mind set. If people no matter how old they are are not taught the values of life and raised with morals then what you will get is teenagers coming up to you asking for money and people turning to welfare because it is easy and becomes a way of life. The world is changing and nothing can be done about it. How unfortunate.

They're just too lazy, grandpa. It's sad but the right values are not instilled in today's teenagers. The youth now get everything too easy. I can only wonder what kind of parents they will be in the future.
I'm 31 and worked 9 years but my job is too taxing that it feels like it's been 30 years. I just hope that more of the young people tomorrow would see work as a chance to advance one's self and do it, and not just keep themselves rotten while taking advantage of other people by asking for money.

Because most of the jobs are below them. When you are raised with certain expectations. You have been told all your life that you are better then that. Momma and Daddy have given you everything and now you are on your own, until they hit bottom and nearly starve will they take those jobs. Now before someone gets upset, I am talking about young people I know. Would you believe that a few who come in to where I work can not fill out the application?

Dear Grand pa,
You first must stop dressing like Daddy Warbucks. Secondly, you must carry with you at all times, the classified ads.
And finally, when they ask for money, make up a foreign language so they think you don't understand them!

Maybe they see someone older and are trying to put a fast one. Teens have no excuse these days for not having a job. They are all too often looking for careers and at 17 that's not likely to happen.

i hate to say this that this behavior is a product of a society which has taught kids - " it doesnt hurt to ask"...hello it is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Sure asking is an easy way to solve your problems. however with some cognition you may be able to solve your own problems or analyze what makes a resonable request!

How do you think they got so well-dressed? Big $$$ in "pan-handling" today! They probably got a $45.000 SUV parked around the corner too!
