If we're talking about general male and female friends, usually they've proved themselves to be kind, trustworthy, companionable, etc.
But if you're talking about romantic love then, in all honesty I have to say I don't know. I could list all the qualities I find desirable in a man but, even if he were to possess all of them, it would not guarantee that I would love him. There's also got to be a certain indefinable something extra present - a chemistry, magnetism, meeting of souls, call it what you will - that is usually subconscious.
As for sexual love, I do know that THAT also has to start emotionally (i.e. in the head) before it can be converted to physicality (i.e. the body). Until very recently I thought that physical attraction was an automatic, solely 'bodily' thing, but when an emotional element like trust, for example, is not present, then true sexual passion can cease to exist and any efforts to recover it can be futile.

Generally, I love all people, I would help anyone who needs some help that I can offer.
