Maybe try a different formula.Since you pump you can mix it slowly to transition him.Start with mixing 1/4 formula with 3/4 milk for the first day or two in maybe half of his bottles and then increase the amount of formula in the bottles each day.Breast milk tastes way better than formula which we all know.I did the same with my son,I simply was not allowed to breast feed believe it or not!My son has a bad heart defect and had very low oxygen at 65% so was not able to drink much so I had no choice but to pump and I had to mix powdered formula in with my breast milk just so he got enough calories to gain a very small amount of weight for his next surgery so it was tough.I did it for 6 months then stopped as my son was allergic to dairy and soy and it was so hard to eat like that but I did for 6 months then slowly switched to formula.I felt bad about a month after and tried to relactate with meds and pumping 24/7 but I just couldnt do it.Just be sure this is definatly what you want to do and best of luck to you!

We had to do this with my daughter because I was going on heavyduty antibiotics.
*Mix 1/2 breastmilk and 1/2 formula in a bottle for a few weeks and slowly wean off the breastmilk until it's all formula. Try getting a formula more like breastmilk (we use Enfamil Gentlease Lipil).
*Maybe it's a nipple issue if he's not used to bottles. We went out an bought one of every type of bottle imaginable and tried them all. We settled on Playtex Ventaire Wide they seem to be the most comfortable, have a nipple she likes and gets less air.

I formula fed my son and man did that formula have a horrible odor. You might try feeding your son a different brand of formula(with Peds okay). The other thing that might be an issue is the type of bottle you are using.

Like any change, it all takes time. The best thing you can do is do it gradually, and not all of a sudden. That way the baby till have time to get used to it in it's own time. I would also recommend that you use the tommee tippee wide neck teats, thay are great and look and feel just like a real nipple for the baby.

If you're ready to transition, don't be surprised if you have to try a couple of brands before finding on he likes.
My kids both liked Good Start after weaning...

it depends on how old your son is, my son was 8 months old when i stopped nursing and i put him right on 2% milk and table and baby food if your son gets hungry enough he will eat if he don't like regular milk put like some of your milk and formula together until you wean him.

Try the Good Start formula mixed with a little Ovaltine. Ovaltine will make the formula taste better and it is full of vitamins for the baby. I had to do that and it worked great. But you have to get Ovaltine-it is the only brand with the vitamins.

leave him on the breast as long as you can tolerate it.. it wont hurt, and it improves bonding-- he needs that more than food. weaning can be imprved by adding more substantial cereals and small portions pureed veggies as tolerated.

Then why not pump your milk instead of trying to give him formula? It's cheaper and healthier.
