Usually a Historical Advisor. All too often historical accuracy is sacrificed in the interests of making the film more appealing.

This also includes costuming. The Man in the Iron Mask production with DiCaprio was the most inaccurate as far as costumes went. For some reason they just couldn't put Leo in a wig appropriate for the court of Louis XIV.

Dumbing down of history is prevalent in the film industry.

Based on the quality of the historical fiction churned out by Hollyweird, there is no such person.
