The Office was mildly smile type amusing but Ricky Gervais as a stand up and in interview is very funny, the Flanimals are very cool as well so I reckon yes funny.

and hopeless at everything he's not funny and poor john cleese had to give him two awards last year ricky gervais is a LOSER!!!!

Very funny when scripted - stand-up, The Office, Extras.
Not funny when he has to ad-lib.
He's more of a comic actor than a comedian.

The Office and Extras are funny, but I'm not much for his stand-up.
Apart from that bit he did about the Garden of Eden, I really liked that.

No, he is not one bit funny - sarcastic he is with that silly sneery grin. But his idea of the show extras is wonderful - but would be better without him.

I do not think he is funny either.
My children tell me it is because of my age, I am supposed to be out of touch.
I don't really know what they mean because I have a brilliant sense of humor when things are funny.
